The construction practice of the State Grid shows that investing in the construction of 1 yuan charging pile can drive more than 7 times the consumption of new energy vehicles, and the spillover effect is obvious. This year, the State Grid launched a new round of charging pile construction, with a planned investment of 2.7 billion yuan and 78,000 new charging piles, which is expected to drive the consumption of new energy vehicles to exceed 20 billion yuan.
China Southern Power Grid recently announced that it will invest 25.1 billion yuan in the next four years to build 150 large-scale centralized charging stations and 380,000 charging piles, which can drive about 200 billion yuan of investment in power grid construction, components and equipment manufacturing and other related industries. According to the estimates of relevant research institutions, in the next 10 years, the scale of China's charging pile equipment and service market is expected to exceed 500 billion yuan.
"Accelerating the construction of charging piles will indirectly stimulate the investment demand of the new energy vehicle industry chain and form a leverage effect. Qiao Jing, an assistant researcher at the Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, believes that leveraging the consumption and investment of new energy vehicles can not only drive investment in upstream and midstream industries such as power batteries, machinery manufacturing, rubber glass, and new materials, but also release the investment demand for service industries such as battery recycling and maintenance sales.
Accelerating the construction of charging piles and helping the promotion of new energy vehicles can also promote China's clean energy revolution and the development of green transportation. In recent years, the transportation sector has accounted for nearly 60% of oil consumption. The China Automotive Center predicts that by 2035, the number of pure electric passenger vehicles in China is expected to be close to 100 million, promoting the efficient coordination of new energy vehicles and renewable energy, and effectively reducing China's dependence on foreign crude oil.
